Google Voice.
Coming soon for new users. David Pogue explains it for NYT. One number for all your phones, free voice mail transcription, telemarketing filters, off-hour call blocking, lower long distance than Skype, text sorting to multiple phones, etc. Sweet.

GM can't afford Ken Burns.
Or doesn't want to. Who knows? Based on what he left out of jazz, I don't think he could hear me anyway. Maybe I won't have that option on my Mac ever again, praise the Lord.

A decade of web design.
They didn't go back far enough. Everyone was on dial-up and Suck.com was a daily stop (along with the lost, lamented Crash Site, which no longer exists). Nerve.com was cool and then you hit the porn that shitcanned your computer. Text was king, and if you seriously wanted to get an answer or meet some folks, Usenet was the shit. And IRC. Anyone on a Mac who knew "Config PPP" was in demand. Video? Use the TV.
You could download and send images, thumbnails. 30 minutes for your friend's new song. Hours to fill up a G3 from another drive. Bill Gates was a viper, Apple was about dead. Google didn't exist.
A little walk through memory lane of the early days of design, and usability.
