Another instance of why strong independent developers matter on this platform. Duh... I think Steve Jobs knows this and thinks it sucks.

I'm trying to help a friend make the transition to OS X and am realizing that I've used Macs for so long I'm hard-put to find a decent metaphor for the actions of the Finder. I'd sure appreciate any private emails or Tweets.

Excellent piece by Daniel Eran Dilger on Apple's newest iteration of Mac OS X. "No new features," according to Apple, so I guess they're... enhancements.

Fix the damned Help window in Leopard.

If you're tired of the annoying "always floating" behavior of the Help window in Mac OS X 10.5.x, here's an easy Terminal command that will get it out of the way.

10.5.3 released.

Waited a day to install it on both Macs. Both seem stable and snappier, and Address Book can finally sync with Google and Exchange. Use the whopping-big combo updater on Apple's support site to be safe (instead of Software Update), and do a backup first.
