Fontcase.
Looks like the beta's good to go. Really impressive Mac OS X font manager, so long Apple Font Book. "Manage your fonts. The Apple way." Except Apple didn't make this. Another instance of why strong independent developers matter on this platform. Duh... I think Steve Jobs knows this and thinks it sucks.

Kanye West album generator.
I've given the punch line away by posting Michael Sippey's imagining of the GUI, but the comments illustrate the need for an iPhone app. Comic Sans for the "demo," well, yeah.

Found: briefcase with odd items.
Date: 2008-11-27, 9:31AM PST
Large silver briefcase (metal). No locks. Odd items inside include a 14 inch length of plastic tube about one and a half inches in diameter, a solid rod of plastic about 20 inches long and a little under one and a half inches in diameter. Several tubes of KY jelly (don't ask me, I just found it). Here's the really odd thing: there were five Gerbils in a plastic container with breather holes in it. I put them in a mouse cage with some shredded wood chips, water, and food. Respond to this add so I can return your stuff. If no respone in a week, I'll give the Gerbils to the animal shelter and turn the rest of the stuff over to the Sheriff Dept. Thanks.

Facebook fake: 100 friends in four days.
What interests me about this and the author's point is that Facebook is designed to make the sharing of personal information easy. People use Facebook precisely because it allows them to relinquish privacy. The article fails to address Facebook as a privacy dynamic. More thorough analysis in this direction is over here.

A couple stars.
by Don Cole
Oblivion waits in the light up the road. My grandmother Witcher first showed me Orion as we waited for the paperwork to be finalized letting my mother out of a lunatic asylum. It was 1966 in a dead winter night and we stood outside of a Chinese restaurant in Denver, Colorado. Bare elms stared back at us from some random park across the street. Thin ice crackled under our feet, with little snow, but we were standing knee deep in family treachery. (The photo is from "Wunder" photos on the Underground weather service.)
